Hi! I'm Mrs. Sara Tierney and I teach the 4th and 5th grade blend here at Ames! The blend is especially exciting and challenging for students because we learn using big ideas and essential questions. A blend is a gifted and talented philosophy. Our classroom "has no ceiling" meaning each and every student is encouraged to soar above his or her potential. Expectations are set high. On day one, in the classroom, a caring community is created to ensure all learners feel safe taking risks and reaching lofty goals. Learning goals are posted daily to help all learners take responsibility and self monitor their own learning. All of us put forth our very best effort every day. What a blessing to be here at Ames!
