I am a 6 year resident of Highlands Ranch Colorado, and I am originally from the Washington D.C. suburbs in Virginia. Due to my husband’s Naval Officer career, I have lived all over the country! I attended the University of Kentucky and received my B.A. in Elementary Education. I attended San Diego State’s Masters graduate program and completed 1/3 of my Masters in Reading and Literacy instruction, until a transfer with the US Navy halted my graduate studies.  I student taught Kindergarten and a 3rd/ 4th grade blend in Auckland, New Zealand. I have taught preschool in Virginia, second grade in Hawaii, first grade on Coronado Island in California, math in Douglas County at Acres Green Elementary and I was a reading teacher in Douglas County as well. Last year I taught 1/2 day kindergarten here at Ames. In my spare time, I am learning guitar and a little bit of piano, I am an avid bike rider, camper, walker, swimmer, budding tennis and golf player. I love to sing and I will join my church choir in the near future.
